Access Control – Teddington Riverside
Site Location
Situated on the banks of the River Thames in south-west London, this Teddington riverside development is a collection of three exquisite apartment blocks which were built in 1998. These apartments offer a concierge service, idyllic riverside grounds, restaurant, and is home to the RNLI’s Teddington Lifeboat Station.
Fun fact: In 2021, Teddington Riverside was declared the best place to live in London.
Site Requirements
Due to the buildings being over 20 years of age, the access control system for the flats had become obsolete. Originally, the three apartment blocks in the development – totalling over 70 flats – all had separate key entry systems for access to the buildings, communal gardens, and entry gates.
Managing this system was time-consuming and inefficient for the residents and concierge – and so Instant Protect was tasked with bringing the access control requirements for the flats into 2021, encompassing a system as easy as one fob/app to open all doors.

We designed and installed a fully networked access control system for this Teddington riverside development, including a bespoke fob system for residents. This unified solution brought together all aspects of access control for the premises, enhancing site security and eliminating the need for physical keys altogether.
As a result, each system user now possesses a single fob that grants access to the areas and doors they have permission to go through. This custom access control system for flats is directly managed by the concierge from their office, giving them total control to deactivate/delete users from the system in a matter of seconds. This is extremely useful in the event of a tenant either moving out or misplacing their fob, and helps to ensure strangers are not able to access the properties.
Thanks to Instant Protect’s state-of-the-art residential access control system, managing hundreds of keys and perennially changing locks are now an archaic thing of the past for this development.
